STR-X6759

SKU: STR-X6759

Features & Benefits

Quasi-resonant topology IC Þ Low EMI noise and soft switching

  • Bottom-skip mode Þ Improved system efficiency over the entire output load by avoiding increase of switching frequency
  • Standby mode Þ Lowers input power at very light output load condition
  • Avalanche-guaranteed MOSFET Þ Improves system-level reliability and does not require VDSS derating
  • 650 VDSS / 0.385 Ω RDS(on)
  • Various protections Þ Improved system-level reliability

The STR-X6759 is a quasi resonant topology integrated circuit, designed to be used in switched mode power supplies (SMPSs). It is an offline quasi resonant switching regulator with a soft switching mode that allows the internal MOSFET to be turned on at very nearly zero voltage. This is achievable partly because of a resonant capacitor.

The STR-X6759 has a TO (transistor outline) package. This particular package is a TO-3P containing both a MOSFET and the controller chip. This structure facilitates 280 W output power, at 120 VAC input, with high system-level efficiency across the entire load range.

Integrated Circuits

Integrated circuits, or ICs, consist of a multiple electronic circuits housed on a single ‘chip’ made of semiconductor material. This is typically, but not always, silicon. Using ICs, or chips, rather than having several transistors separately linked together allows for much cheaper and more efficient production of electronic components.
