In this section of our store, you will have the answer to the question what is a triac and how does it work, and also here you can purchase these components.
Triac (triode for alternating current) is a switching semiconductor device that is capable of transmitting current in only one direction. It is often called a valve and draws analogies between it and a controlled diode. Triacs have three terminals, one of which is the control electrode. With it, the element switches to conductive mode. How to use triac more? This item is also a rectifier, a switch, and even a signal amplifier. Often it is used as a regulator (but only when the entire circuit is powered from an AC voltage source). The crystal of the triac component consists of four layers of p and n-type. The described structure is also called a four-layer structure. The p-structure with the positive terminal of the power supply connected to it is called the terminal 1. Consequently, the second n-structure is the terminal 2. A negative voltage of the power supply is applied to it.
